Time of Dreams comprises both recent music
(2006) and selections from as early as 2000. Most of this
music has been created for contemporary dance. The music
belongs to the performance, and is usually kept by the company
for future use. Finally now, it is finding
it’s way to public release.
Returning to the swirling, fantasy music
of the London Diorama, these pieces open doors to magic
territories and dream frontiers. Subcontinent and Dreaming are new pieces that have never had previous
performance. Ocean of Dreams
(2003) is from the CD of the same
title, originally written for James Broughton’s Androgyne
Journal (1996). Dream
Landscapes is also from the Ocean
of Dreams CD. Domaine I was created for the Gamelan Naga Mas production
Float Sound Objects (2005). Walking
On The Stars has been released on
the Luminous CD, Create Music (2000). Falling Up premiered at The Arches, Glasgow (2002)
for a Signy Jakobsdottir/Susan Worsfold performance of the same
title.
Born in 1941, Jon Keliehor’s music for contemporary dance, ballet, theatre and film has produced a unique catalogue of percussion based composition.
