Luminous Music: a dreamhouse, a place for contemporary, world-based music and performance. The Luminous on-line catalogue is developing as a site for uniquely new music. Currently we feature the extensive and highly remarkable music of percussionist Jon Keliehor, whose music has been championed by performance artists and dance companies in the UK, Venezuela and the USA. His music is percussion based, exploring territorial links between Indonesian gamelan, contemporary performance, and experimental domains.

Located in Glasgow, Luminous Music develop new music for international gamelan performance, and provide music for contemporary dance, ballet and theatre. A link to their Educational activities can be found here. In addition to new music, Luminous are the European contact for the activities of West Coast rock groups The Daily Flash and Bodine.

Luminous Music studios began at the Diorama, Regents Park, London, during the time that composer Jon Keliehor worked with London Contemporary Dance Theatre between 1970-1985. Much of the musical output during this time went directly to performance by professional dance companies, individual choreographers and performers. Today (finally) Luminous are beginning to release a catalogue of extraordinary percussion based music, including both current works and archival recordings. This body of music has re-defined the parameters of how percussion instruments might be used in modern music.
